Opened in 1990. Area of course is 2,880,000 Sq.m. 20 / 30 minutes by car from the town centre of Chiang Mai is Green Valley Country Club, a championship 18-hole golf course, part of the Green Valley Group of Country Clubs in Thailand. The appearance of the fairways, lined with palm trees, seems wide, but golfers must be careful in the traps as water hazards and bunkers are plentiful and carefully sited by the course designer, thus making the fairways narrow and leaving no room for any wayward shots. Within and around the golf course, there is also land allocated for housing estates providing a serene view of the lake.

Royal Chiang Mai Golf Club

The 18 hole, par 72, Peter Thomson designed links style course opened in February 1996. The par 4, 4th  is an absolute brute of a hole, playing at 440 yards from the back tees and uphill all the way. Not a hole for the faint hearted. This hole is an exception as the key to scoring well, points more towards accuracy than length. More so, considering there is 94 well-placed bunkers to catch any stray  shots. You will find many streams and lakes throughout the 18 holes but not all are in play. The course offers all levels of golfers an enjoyable round with a chance to score well. Many of the holes are set with beautiful mountain backdrops, so if your game goes to the pack at least the course and its backdrops will be pleasing to the eye.

All Tees, Fairways and Roughs are grassed with 419 Bermuda grass and Greens with imported Tiff Dwarf Bermuda grass.  A practice putting and chipping green, as well as a driving range are available for you to fine tune your skills before attacking the course.
