Private Cars & Vans.

There are many rental companies around Thailand for the hiring of a car or van especially in Bangkok.Many international rental companies have offices here.

Taxis

Taxi’s in Bangkok are fixed with a meter and have a sign on the roof   “Taxi Meter”. The minimum fare is 35 Baht for a distance of no more than two km. The fare will increase according to the distance covered.No tip is expected by the driver. Should you enter a freeway section of road it is expected that you pay the toll way amount, it is not part of the fare.

Taxi’s at the Airports

There are counters at the entrance / exit doorways where you can fix a rate for the journey or pay by meter. Normally there is a booking fee of 50 Baht but you do secure a safe / reliable / and registered taxi. Registered taxis charge between 200 & 400 baht into Bangkok depending on which part you are heading to. The Toll way is 70 baht on top of the fare.Many private business’s use the touting system and wait endlessly at the arrival hall to find customers, they usually use (in their words) limousines, this is not always the case and they usually charge more  than the registered taxi’s. However, sometimes you do find a good firm and they will look after you but be careful if it's your first trip to Thailand, they do love novices.

Airport Bus Services

Suvarnabhumi (pronounced su-wanna-poom which means The Golden Land)

There are many bus services that run from the Airport to most parts of Bangkok and some beyond.

Airport Express Bus

AE1     Suvarnabhumi to Silom Road by Expressway

AE2     Suvarnabhumi to Khao San Road by Expressway

AE3     Suvarnabhumi to Central World via Sukumvit Road

AE4     Suvarnabhumi to Hua Lamphong - Bangkok Central Railway Station via Victory Monument, by Expressway.

City Bus Service

549      Suvarnabhumi to Miniburi / Bangkapi via Seri Thai Road.

550      Suvarnabhumi to Latphrao MRT station Ratchada - Latphrao intersection
